Dye, Adhesives and Leather Finishes
Our extensive line of Fiebing’s products are mineral spirit/alcohol based; many leather crafters prefer these because they believe they penetrate deeper into the leather’s pours, resulting in more consistent coloring. However, Tandy Leather recently introduced the Eco-Flo product line, an high quality, environmentally friendly water based stain-dye. Conchos
Our extensive inventory of Conchos include Decorative Rivets, Rivetback, Screwback, Slotted, and Spots & Spikes. Most are screw backs and rivet backs attachments, but we also have a nice selection of slotted and bezel Conchos. The Conchos are designed to work with is 1/4” (6.4 mm) standard thickness leather; these can be extended with Concho screws or saddle screws. The bezel Conchos are attached with decorative rivets in sizes 5 mm, 6 mm and 7 mm diameters. Sewing, Lace & Stitching
Sewing is a integral part of joining leathertogether. With a little experience, it can be a enjoyable part of the craft. We carry needles that will work for every project. Waxed threads make working with leather much easier, but adding extra beeswax from time to time will also help. Using a hand sewing punch, or awls with one of the interchangeable blades, while sewing will become second nature. Lacing ponies will hold two pieces of leather together like a third hand. Stiching groovers and the Spacer Set System will not only mark straight lines, but space them out evenly for a professional look.
