Craftool Nylon Edge Slicker
Using the edge slicker by rubbing it back and forth will burnish the edge of leather or close the loose fibers, so they don't fray. The leather edges should be moistened first or coated with Tragacanth. If they are to dry or wet, it will not work as well. If the leather is too wide for this tool a bone folder will work also by rubbing the leather back and forth lengthwise. This item has the concave rim to 1/4" (6.4 mm) wide to fit most leather. Doing this first and then using one of the many different kinds of edge dyes will leave a professional look. This item 8122-00 is 2-1/8" (5.4 cm) in diameter and can adapt to an electric drill for faster results for a professional edge.
